Gerald J. Richter is a founding shareholder and
partner in the firm. Mr. Richter was raised in Saginaw,
Michigan and, prior to practicing law, he was employed
by J. R. Heineman & Sons, Inc., a general contractor
based in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Richter received a B.S.
in Accounting from Central Michigan University in 1982
and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Law School
in 1986.
Mr. Richter’s practice involves a variety of business
related legal services in both the construction industry
and involving charter to public school academies. His
clients include several surety companies, charter public
school academies, general contractors, suppliers and
subcontractors, architects, developers and owners.
Mr. Richter has made presentations to the Association of
General Contractors, the American Subcontractors
Association and several other organizations. Mr.
Richter has authored articles for and is the editor of
the publication entitled Construction Industry Guide to
Michigan Construction Law published by the AGC. He has
represented charter public school academies in Michigan
since the law authorizing charter public school
academies was introduced to the State.
A member of the State Bar of Michigan, Mr. Richter is
eligible to practice before the Sixth Circuit Court of
the Appeals, the Federal District Court in both the
Eastern and Western Districts and the U.S. Claims Court.
